BMS 625 - Molecular Biology |
Prerequisite: permission of the instructor. In-depth examination of nucleic acid structure, function, regulation, repair, and mutagenesis; principles of genetic engineering. Laboratory provides experience in the techniques used to isolate, separate, quantitate, characterize, and modify nucleic acids. The course also includes an introduction to the GenBank and EMBL nucleic acid and protein sequence databases. May be taught concurrently with BMS 525.
