SWK 213 - Introduction to Social Welfare Policy and Services |
Prerequisite: "C" or better in SWK 200 or concurrent enrollment. This course examines the historical development and philosophical orientation of social welfare policy and services in the United States as well as introduces students to the development of social work as a profession. The course focuses on selected major social welfare policies and programs and the philosophical, economic, social and political forces that shape their development.
